Rim repair covers any work done to restore a damaged alloy wheel — from a minor kerb scuff to a structural crack or a bent rim that's causing vibration. In New Zealand, "rim" and "wheel" are used interchangeably; both refer to the alloy or mag wheel that your tyre mounts onto.
Not all rim damage is equal. A surface scuff needs sanding, filling and refinishing. A bent rim needs straightening on a hydraulic press. A crack needs TIG welding and structural testing. A diamond-cut face needs re-machining on a CNC lathe. We do all of it — in-house, in Grey Lynn. We also repair mag wheels and supply tyres.
We measure every wheel before and after repair. If it doesn't meet spec, it doesn't leave the workshop. Have questions? See our alloy wheel repair FAQ.
