What “OEM factory finish” means

It’s the as-delivered look: the right colour formula, sheen (matte/satin/gloss), texture, and clear coat—sometimes a diamond-cut face with tinted lacquer. We restore or refinish your alloys to match factory standards, not “close enough.”

When to choose an OEM refinish

• You want a factory-correct look after kerb rash, corrosion or a previous poor repair.
• One wheel was replaced or repainted and no longer matches the set.
• Lease return or resale: keeping the car OEM-true helps value and avoids penalties.
• Prestige models (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Lexus, Tesla, VW, etc.) where detail matters.

Not every wheel needs a full OEM refinish—if a smart repair will do, we’ll tell you.

Finishes we match

• Painted silver/graphite/anthracite (two-stage base + clear).
• Shadow chrome / tinted clears (layered mid-coat for depth).
• Gloss, satin or matte clears to factory sheen.
• CNC diamond-cut faces with clear or tinted lacquer.
• Powder-coat OEM equivalents where appropriate for durability.

Our OEM-correct process

1. Assess & plan – We check for bends or cracks first; safety before cosmetics.
2. Strip & prep – Remove old coatings, vapour-blast/sand, repair any rash or gouges (TIG for missing alloy where needed).
3. Profile & cut (if required) – CNC diamond-cutting for wheels designed with a cut face.
4. Prime – Alloy-safe primer for adhesion and corrosion resistance.
5. Colour-match – OEM paint codes where available; otherwise we spectro-scan and mix to match tone, flake and flop.
6. Clear-coat – Correct sheen (matte/satin/gloss) or tinted clear for shadow effects; booth-applied and bake-cured.
7. Refit & balance – Tyre back on, TPMS handled correctly, dynamic balance, final QC. WOF-ready.

Turnaround: most OEM repaints are 2–3 days; diamond-cut sets can take a touch longer. Loan wheels/vehicle available (subject to availability).

FAQs

Can you match “shadow chrome” or tinted finishes?
Yes. We layer base + mid-tint + clear to achieve the OEM depth (no muddy greys).

Do you repaint centre caps?
We can refinish caps or source OEM replacements for a perfect set match.

Will I lose the manufacturer warranty on the wheel?
Cosmetic refinishing usually doesn’t affect the wheel warranty, but structural damage or non-OEM colours might—ask us and we’ll explain your options.

Is powder coat “OEM”?
Many OEM wheels are wet-paint + clear; some are powder. We’ll recommend the system that best recreates your factory look and suits how you drive.
