Fixing curbed wheels involves a step-by-step process to restore the appearance and structural integrity of the wheel.
Our process
Step 1. Assessment
Our experienced team evaluates your wheels to determine the extent of the damage. We can provide replacement wheels while we work on the repairs to save you time. If all four wheels need repairs, we’ll provide a loan car.
Step 2. Cleaning & Stripping
The damaged area is cleaned and stripped to remove dirt, debris, or previous coatings. This step is crucial for a smooth and effective repair process.
Step 3. Filling & Shaping
If there are deep scratches or dents, we may use alloy specific fillers to reshape and smooth out the damaged areas, helping to restore the wheel's original contour.
Step 4. Sanding & Smoothing
After filling, the repaired areas are sanded to achieve a uniform surface. This step prepares the wheel for refinishing and helps blend the repaired sections seamlessly with the rest of the surface
Step 5. Priming
In all cases, a primer is applied to the repaired wheel face to enhance adhesion and prepare the surface for applying the base colour and then the clear coat.
Step 6. Painting or Powder Coating
Depending on the wheel's original finish, we may use paint or powder coating to restore the colour. This step involves matching the paint or powder to the existing wheel colour or applying a new colour as desired
Step 7. Curing
The painted or coated wheel is then cured or baked to ensure the finish is durable and long-lasting. This step is essential for achieving a strong bond between the coating and the wheel surface
Step 8. Final Inspection
Quality check for structural integrity and appearance.
Step 9. Reinstallation
Wheel reinstated so you can drive away and be stoked with the result!
