Our process
Preparation
The wheels are thoroughly cleaned and stripped to remove any dirt, grease, or previous coatings. This step is crucial to ensure proper adhesion of the new colour.
Surface Repair
If there are any scratches, dents, or other imperfections on the alloy wheels, they are repaired using fillers and other techniques. The goal is to create a smooth and even surface for the new colour application.
Sanding and Smoothing
The wheels are sanded to create a rough texture, promoting better adhesion of the primer and paint or powder coating. After sanding, the surfaces are smoothed to ensure a flawless finish.
Priming
In all cases, a primer is applied to the repaired wheel face to enhance adhesion and prepare the surface for the application of the base colour and then the clear coat.
Base Coat Application
The chosen colour is applied as a base coat. This could be a liquid paint or a powder coating, depending on the desired finish and the capabilities of the repair or customisation shop.
Drying or Curing
The base coat is allowed to dry or cure thoroughly. The curing process may involve baking the wheels in an oven for a specific duration, especially in the case of powder coating.
Additional Coats (Optional)
A clear protective coat may be applied on top of the coloured surface to enhance durability and provide resistance to UV rays, chemicals, and environmental elements.
Final Inspection
After the paint or powder coating has dried or cured completely, the wheels undergo a final inspection. Experts check for colour consistency, smoothness, and overall quality of the finish.
Assembly and Reinstallation
Once the colouring process is complete and the wheels pass the inspection, they are assembled and reinstalled on the vehicle.
